Prayer For Non-Violence
Dear Spirit to Spirit friend,
At this very delicate time in our human journey, a prayer from Sister Mary Lou Kownacki, Director of Monasteries of
Prayer for Non-Violence
"May I bow to the sacred in all creation.
May my spirit fill the world with goodness, beauty and wonder.
May my mind seek truth with humility and openness.
May my heart forgive without limit.
May my love for friend, or enemy, be without measure.
May my needs be few and my life simple.
May my actions bear witness to the suffering of others.
May my hands be open and kind to all living beings.
May my steps stay on the path of truth and justice.
May my tongue speak for those who are poor and afflicted without fear of the powerful.
May my prayers rise with patient discontent until no child is hungry.
May my life's work be a passion for peace and non-violence.
May my soul rejoice in the present moment.
May my imagination overcome death and despair with new possibilities.
May I risk reputation, comfort, and security in order to bring this hope to every child.
May I always live my life surrendered to that which is sacred."
In Gratitude & Love, Joanna
