Have you noticed this?
That the lack of physical interaction with family and friends has opened deeper dialogue when we're on the phone, Skype or Zoom.
Instead of the casual "how are you?" we often open our conversations with, we are asking more deeply "how are you?" and seeking a different level of connection. There seems to be a longing, a desire to be together on a more essential level. Intimacy seems to be opening and increasing between us.
And... have you also noticed in your interaction with your animal family members that here too, something different, deeper is opening?
That our animal family members are not just coming to us for strokes and hugs and play and walks. That they are coming to us for a more intimate connection, as if they are aware of what we are coping with and what is going on in our world....which, of course, they are.
Our animal family members are exquisitely sensitive to the energy of who we are, how we are- from the physical to the mental/emotional to the spiritual. And what the energy of the world is.
And, they know where our attention rests, what we are thinking about, how we feel about it, how it impacts us. From our joy and love to our anxiety, stressors, and fears.
Some may approach us directly for intimate connection. Some may gently connect with us at the distance. Each one true to his/her own way of being.
And, they know, in the depth of who they are as sensitive and compassionate beings, that a more intimate relationship is a healing relationship. For their human family members and for them.
And so a wonderful time to pay attention to the quality of connections we are having with other people and with our animal beloveds. It seems that this very unusual time we are in is encouraging us to connect in more intimate ways, to truly feel and know the one who is in front of us. Animal or human.
What a gift!
